Default why does my ps3 take along time to download demos?

my ps3 takes 2-3 hours to download a 1000-1500 megabyte demo. i have a very fast internet connection and i never lag. is it because i only have 9 gigs left in memory because i have lots of movies on my ps3. i have an 80 gig ps3 from 2009. not the slim

my computer downloads 1.19 megabytes per second. meaning that it will take 15 minutes to download 1000-1500 megabytes persecond

Your internet speed has very little to do with how fast your PS3 performs online. The numbers people are tossing around don't mean much as those numbers are never constant. With your PS3, you have to contend with server traffic caused by the innumerable amounts of people playing or downloading or just sitting there.

Try doing a speedtest on your computer and ps3 on speedtest.net. If your computer is much faster than your ps3, it's probably because you have so much stuff on your ps3. You can purchase a new hardrive with around 500gbs of memory, but it won't be cheap.

Depends on if your connection is wired or wireless, wireless tends to run slower but you must keep in mind that 1000-1500 megabytes is A LOT of content to download. I had the same issues so I just deleted about 15 movies and it seems to run faster. Also make sure your ethernet cords to your modem , router, or playstation (if wired connection) do not have frays in them. Other than that it could just be an issue with the data receiver in the Playstation.
