Help with Call of Duty 4 for PS3? (Asking this question AGAIN)

It used to work good, but now all it says is, "DOWNLOADING GAME SETTINGS" and it works nice ( the periods are going back and forth) for about ten seconds. Then everything freezes for about 4 seconds and this cycle goes on and on AND ON. I tried removing the ethernet cord from my PS3 and putting it back in, but still nothing! My friend told me to try and restart my COD 4 online account again, but I don't want to. I mean, I beat the game and got all 30 intel pieces on veteran! Please, help me

I'm sorry but,your friend is right.
Thats what your probably have to end up doing or get a new disk.
