I am so tired of people bashing on the wii because of it's graphics. Since when do graphics matter in video games. Me personally I care more about gameplay than graphics.

People likely criticize the Wii's graphics because the Wii is basically a Gamecube outfitted with a salable gimmick, resulting in a less polished look than the rest of the current generation. As for the importance of graphics to games, they can't be discounted out of hand, as the medium of video games are multi-faceted experiences, and well-put together visuals can enhance the flow of gameplay.

If whatever associates you have which have obviously caused you such distress as to make you post this lament on Yahoo Answers begin to criticize your console of choice on the basis of graphical quality, point out numerous innovative games which have circumvented the limitations of their visuals, such as the stylized and intentionally minimalist celshaded look of killer7 and No More Heroes, or the still astonishingly good modern 2-D games made by Vanillaware: Odinsphere and Muramasa.

Because of the difference in gameplay it makes. Have you ever played a PS3? You'd see the difference immediately. The future games will be 3D though, so...

I think the reason why people bash the Wii is the selection of games that's available on the Wii. I mostly play RPG (Final Fantasy, Tales of Series, Dragon Quest Series, etc) games and the Wii's graphics don't really shine in the RPG department. Don't get me wrong, i do and still love to play the games that i bought from the virtual console through the Wii Channel (Super Mario RPG, Legend of Zelda, Kirby 64, Sonic the Hedgehog) and most recently, be able to watch instant movies on Netflix. So its not all that bad but depending on what kind of game you want to play (say for instance you want to play an RPG), the Wii's graphic won't be great for those kinds of games. Mostly other people, and including me, play RPG games on the xbox 360 because those kinds of games are best played on that system.

I guess it boils down to how people like the gameplay of a game and then the graphics (personally i rate a game by game-play first then graphics and music).

i have the wii....regardless if graphics has to be god like and be the best out there the gameplay is the key thing for ever single video game there is, not graphics. sony and xbox fanboys will want graphics to be a god over gameplay and thats not right. i played some ps3 with my cousin and its good but the gameplay still remains missing but im sure there are some that has potential. so nintendo has to step up on increasing gameplay and overtake the 2 consoles.
