Sims 3, PC, Wii, XBox, Nintendo DS?

I would like to buy the sims 3 so I will be saving up money but I don't know which to buy it for....I heard that the PC is the best but will it slow down my laptop, the nintendo DS is suppose to have bad graphic...
For the PC do you have to have requirements to use it, if so, what?
