Default Why won't Sony release a PS2 emulator incorporated on the firmware on PS3's?

I enjoy playing PS1 games on PS3, they're really good as before but why won't Sony just release a new firmware with PS2 compatibility incorporated?

PS3's powerful enough to run a PS2, no question asked.
PS3 can play PS2?

Nope.

Only 20GB/60GB and 80GB NTSC can actually play PS2 games other than these every other PS3 CAN'T play PS2 games.

You don't know what you're talking about.

Its not about firmware, its also about the physical reader itself.
