i tried to redeem my 2100 microsoft point code for my xbox 360 and it came up with: status code 80150101. is anyone else getting this? please hep

Yes. I called Microsoft when I had the same problem earlier this year on a card I bought last year and I was told that their is a fine print on the card that says something like "2 Dollars will be deducted each month as fee to keep this card active" and sure enough it was there. Needless to say, my point balance was now zero.

I have also experienced this problem when Microsoft are performing maintenance on Xbox Live.
