Help with New Nintendo Wii?

ok so yeah i got my wii a couple of months ago and i had recently downloaded the homebrew channel and i stupidly lost my SD card and i was wondering is it safe 2 remove the homebrew channel then get another SD card and re-install it and btw MY WII IS 4.2 AND I WILL NOT UPDATE IT anywho will this brick my wii or is this safe ?
