Im thinking of buying a console of some description. My brother has a ps2, but ive found that most of the games on it are aimed at boys. Im a 15 year old girl, and to be honest, have never really been a fan on the whole 'blood, guts and gore' gaming stuff. At the most i like race car games.

I was thinking about getting a wii. It seems to have games id like such as
wii sports
mario games

But then again, i hear so many stories of people not playing their wii's after 3 months, and if im gonna pay 400 dollars for something, i wanna be playing it for more than a few months. So do you think it would be worth buying, or would it be better buying a retro xbox (the original) off ebay and a couple of games to go with it. That way, i wouldn't be saving for months and if i didn't like it, it wouldn't be the end of the world.

So, retro xbox and a couple of games for around 150 bucks, or go all out and get a 400 wii. Thanks muchly

Oh, my bro used to have an xbox, i only loved 2 of the games he had, SSX 3 and Jet Set Radio Future (oh god i loved that game so so much)

I LOVE the Wii. I got mine last year, alongside Mario Kart, Walle (it was free with the console), Mario Sonic Olympic games and Wii Play. I was on it for about a week, and that was ALL I did. And admittedly, I did stop playing on it for a while. But that was only for a month or so, and now I still go on when I have some spare time. Yeah, it's great for parties and everything, but it is also good by yourself, or even with just a friend or sibling. Mario Kart has to be the best game. You said you loved racing? Mario Kart is fab. It's more like go-karting I s'pose, but instead of just wiggling a stick or pressing arrow keys, you actually do have to steer and move with it. So in my opinion, a Wii is well worth buying. There are LOADS of games for girls as well, dancing, sims, etc. I think there may be other racing games if Mario Kart is a bit unrealistic..Which, by the way, it is So yeah I splash out and get one...By the way, I'm also 15 x

I have all of the gaming consoles, Nintendo DS, PS3, XBOX 360 And Wii etc. But to be honest, the Nintendo Wii is my least favourite, I never play it. It's extremely inconvenient how you usually have to sit up, and then back down. Sure it's great for parties and family get-togethers, for about 1 hour, then everbody puts it down and plays the PS3. (The best console there is)
So i don't think you should buy a Wii. :s
