Default Nintendo Wii Controller pointer is flickering and the blue lights are slowly fading?

hello there i hope somebody can help me here

i have this 3 weeks old Nintendo Wii and all of a sudden my Nintendo Wii Controller started to go crazy i think it started last week. the pointer (hand) in the menu is sometimes flickering and if i started tilting it to either right or left the pointer would disappear... i figured this out while playing Trauma Center.

next is that the blue lights on my controller is fading slowly and i think while im playing last night im sure the lights were already out...

these are my problems and here is the kicker... when i push the home button to check on the batteries the battery meter shows ITS FULL (i know its supposed to be full because i just bought those energizers) so what can be wrong on my controller?

but since i also have a Wiimote Charging Stand (it also has bundle of 4 rechargable AAA batteries and a AAA adaptor for the wiimote) and my brother used it for the first time last week and after that event this happened.

do you guys think both of my wiimotes were grounded because of that? also i leave the batteries on the wiimote (the non-rechargable ones) since.

thanks guys!
