HD TV channel indicator remains on when Xbox 360 is connected via HDMI?

I have a phillips LCD HDTV with HDMI input. It works fine from the cable box however when my Xbox 360 is connected the on screen HD port indicator which normally disappears after 15 seconds stays on constantly. This only happens when Xbox 360 is connected. Using new HDMI cables.
