Default How do I fix my PS3 controller? (4 red lights flashing continuously)?

I have two PS3 controllers which don't work. Basically, when I put them on charge, their 4 red lights flash as normal as if it is charging. After an hour of charging, I take them off charge, and I press the PS button and all they do is flash continuously for a while, and then just suddenly turn off.
How do i fix this?? I tried resetting them by pressing the button on the back with a needle, but had no luck.
Please help. Its really annoying.
Even when they are connected to the ps3 via the charge cable, I can get no response from the PS3.

additional info = They are WIRELESS SIXAXIS DUALSHOCK PS3 CONTROLLERS.

they do have batteries and after a few years they do die even though they are Rechargeable, just like you have to buy new car batteries and cellphone every few years, you can do it yourself, if you have the proper tools like a small Philips head screwdriver.
