Playing imported PS2 games on a PS3 using HD Advance?

My SwapMagic broke recently and I'm looking for a replacement. I'm not finding Swap Magic at a decent price anymore but I did find HD Advance. Since my PS2 isn't equipped with a Hard drive I was wondering if it was compatible at all with a PS3 so I could save myself the money.
