Default Can I use my iPad USB charger to charge my PS3 controller?
Is it safe to do this?

I mean the part that plugs into an electric outlet and you can plug a standard USB into that.

Yes it will work but the ps3 have to be on so that the controller can be charged, so if you want to charge it while the ps3 is off you need the official ac charger.
