PS3's AV cables delay on hd tv?

i've got a full hd sony bravia tv. i'm using AV cables because my capture card won't detect output from the AV if i'm playing through HDMI.
the problem i'm facing is that there's a very small reaction delay when i'm playing through av cables.
i'm playing a first person shooter game, so as most of you know, even a 0.1 second delay can put you off completely.
is there a way i can minimize this delay? maybe through the display settings?

Try no capture card! I really get annoyed any way if i die but that would send me over the top!
