Default Recording PS3 gameplay cheaply, SD or HD?

Well basically I want to be able to record gameplay from the PS3.

I would love the option to play in HD whilst recording in SD (because i know HD recording starts at like £250).
Though I can easily accept playing in SD and recording SD.

Here is my current setup;
-Viewsonic VX750 monitor (for computer)
http://ap.viewsonic.com/za/products/productspecs.php?id=166
-HD Fury 1 (for playing ps3 on computer monitor)
-HDMI to DVI-D cable (for HD FURY)
HD FURY connects straight to monitor through VGA port.
For the audio;
Audio is outputted through AV and I use a Y cable to put the audio into a 3.5mm headphone jack for monitors inbuilt speakers.

I have the following cables and devices at my aid;
-DVD Xpress (not the dx2, the first one)
-VGA splitter
-VGA to RCA converter
-1x male to female converter

-1x female to male converter

With all of that what is the best way I can record the PS3?
I have tried splitting the VGA cable coming off the HD Fury and putting them into the recording device but the recording device is not good enough to cope.

Thanks for any help.

Default

I have a 360 and I bought an eZcap for about £20 which im extremely happy with it has great qualtiy if you search for setup on youtube then there is plenty of video to help with that. I have also beenrecommende a pinnicle platinum recorder or something like that its on amazon which is about £65 and i cant comment on quality but i doubt it will be much better than the ezcap although the ezcap software is a bit strange at first but good once used to.
Hope this helps
