i got a 80 gig ps3 and it stopped playing games. i found out i was gettin a 120gig slim for christmas and i was wondering besides using a thumbdrive to convert data, is there another way to get all data on the slim? some data is copy protected and wont transfer to my thumb drive.

the ps3 has a new update 3.15 where if u have an ethernet cord u can connect ur old ps3 with ur new ps3 slim and transfer all the info. i havent used it but if i was u go to the forums or google it.

you can do what he said or you can get an external harddrive and do a complete backup

The latest system update (v3.15) will let you plug in both consoles together via ethernet cable and will transfer all of your data to the new console (including locked gamesaves).
