How many PS3 controllers can I use?

I'm buying a PS3 online, and I want to know how many WIRELESS controllers I can have going at once. That does NOT include the USB things, just getting that clear

I want to now how many of them can be run simultaneously, also how many USB input things does it have in it? Oh and BTW no technical talk please, let's "pretend" I know nothing about PS3's O.o

Alright! this is gonna sound crazy and you won't believe me until you get one most likely. But i have one. And though there's really no use for it yet. You can have 7 controller all connected. I swear. like i have four guitar hero controllers(different instruments) and i can have my two controllers connected 2. That's six but you can have a total of seven. no lie!

you can have 4 wireless controllers running simultaneously and there are 4 usb sockets.
