Can I use a PS3 controller on a new PS3 slim?

I have two controllers for the PS3 I've been using for two years, but now my PS3 broke so I'm buying a new one.

Do my controllers from the last one work on this one or do I have to buy new controllers??

You have to buy new X-Box controllers.

yeah they work fine with no problems except if there was problems with the ps3 controller it self.

PS3 slim is basically the same ps3, only built with a different (less expensive to make) casing

The controllers are still the same for both
(i.e. the ps3 is now made of the same material as the controllers)

Yea. But The Ps3 Slim Is A Cheaper Version And A Lot Less Powerful.

A PS3 is a PS3, it doesn't matter if it is the old fat version, or the new slim version. They are all exactly the same when it comes to accessories, such as controllers, PlayStation Eye (camera), remote, etc.

The only difference between the PS3s is the way they look (when it comes to accessories). Everything that works with the original PS3 will work with the PS3 slim.
