when i save something on my ps3 dose it go to the hard drive or the cd?

i borrowed my friends call of duty: world at war and i want to download map pack 3 but when i download it i wanna make sure it dosent go to my friends cd....

You can never save anything on a cd.
It always gets saved onto the harddrive.
