You will still be able to game on your regular Tv but just don't expect to see great graphics. The graphics look great on a regular tv but trust me once you go HD the graphics on a SDTV looks so jaggy and blurry and all the text is so unclear to read.
But don't worry i you don't have a HDTV you will see what next gen graphics are about. It's just that you won't see it to it's fullest potential.
If you don't have an HDTV but what to get the HD experience you can always use a LCD HDCP PC Monitor.
All you need is a DVI to HDMI cable and just connect the HDMI part to your PS# and the DVI to your monitor.
However, DVI doesn't carry sound so just one of those RCA adapter and plug the red and whte plugs from the PS3 av cables into it. YOu must leave the AV cable in the PS3 still though
