Default Changing PS3 hard drive on a regular basis?

I am planning on getting a new hard drive for my 80GB PS3 as I am running out of space, but was wondering if I could swap the hard drives on a regular (every few days or so) basis so I can have my large install filed games (Fallout 3, MGS4, Bioshock) on one hard drive and the smaller ones on the other with my videos and Linux. Would I run any risk of damaging or ruining the console quicker if I decide to do this?

Also would this void my warranty?
