PS2 to PS3 Adapter. Will it work for turbo controller from PS2 on PS3?

Hey everyone, I have a few old PS2 "Turbo" controllers, in which allowed me to shoot single fire semi-automatic guns extremely fast on PS2 games. I am wondering if I go and purchase a PS2 to PS3 USB controller adapter will the turbo setting work on online PS3 games, CoD4, CoD5 (WaW) etc.
