Default Is this tv good for Sky HD Blu-ray and PS3 hd gaming?

Ive been offered to buy this samsung LE32R88BD 32 inch LCD tv for £200 off a friend as he wants a bigger tv, but don't want to buy it if i can get a better one for cheaper :

these are the prices the tv is going for:

I want it to be good enough quality for Sky HD, my blu-ray and PS3 HD gaming, its only 720p does that make to much difference and hasn't got motion flow (how much difference does that make and will i need it for what i need?)

Hi there mate!

As for the TV you've been offered, that will be a good price for the TV. It will be able to run the PS3 at 1080i or 720p (both pretty much the same). As for other TVs, have a look at http://www.richersounds.co.uk. They are a great company and you can get a 5yr guarantee for about £30 for a TV of that price.

'Motion flow' as you mentioned is Sony's brand name for an improved Hertz (Hz) rate. Standard TVs such as the one your mate is selling will have 50Hz/60Hz. This means the screen refreshes 50 or 60 times a second. An improved Hz rate, such as 100Hz or 200Hz will obviously refresh 100 or 200 times a second. Having these capabilities in a TV mean that the TV can cope with fast paced sports and action movies, which reduce 'motion blurring.' A feature like this can cost you around £150-£300 on the price. In my honest opinion, I feel that it is not too noticeable, and I wouldn't invest in a better TV.

Brand wise, Samsung are a very good brand. I have had a Samsung for three years now with no probs at all. The only problem with them is the speaker quality. Samsung are notorious for having bad in built speakers (very tinny, distortion at low levels). I invested in some of these:

Absolutely brilliant and they can be used as stereo and cinema speakers. A simple plug in to the TVs headphone socket and you'd be sorted.

Hope this helps mate and if you have any more questions, let me know via e-mail on my profile.
