I Connected my PS3 Controller to the computer for games?

ok i saw a guy on youtube he was playing halo 2 on a PC with a ps3 Remote How Can i do that because when i tried it didnt do anything

maybe he had a remote made for the computer that looked just like it. you can buy them at video game stores.
