Is the USB cable working?
Are you using your PS3 to recharge it (I believe it doesn't charge through a pc)? If no to the first 1 then have you recently connected it to someone else is PS3 or has it even been linked to your PS3 in the first place? Anyways if you have a working USB-b cable and your PS3 controller is plugged into your PS3 using it press the middle (playstation) button to connect it to your PS3 and make sure your PS3 is on the whole time(sometimes you have to state the obvious). If that doesn't work: Are the USBs on the front of the PS3 operational? Do other controllers charge/work? |

press the ps button in the middle of controller to turn it on.

Maybe you got the buttons stuck as in you pressed the buttons too hard and got it stuck. That happened before.
Look sideways at your controller and look if one button is shorter than another. |

try this... back of the controller theres a lil hole right of the screw on top middle of controller thats the reset button put a pin in there and push down in it then try to plug it in the ps3 and turn it on see if that works

connect your controller to the PS3 via USB cable. go to settings>>>accessory settings>>>re-assign controller and assign it as controller 1. It should always be assigned as controller 1. Then unplug the USB. It should be ok.
