I have this sixaxis controller for ps3 and for some reason, my L1 button got jammed. Whenever i go in to play COD4, im either in zoom mode or not. it is not functioning at all when pressed, can i open to fix it

you can open it to fix it but just make sure you remember where all the parts go or else you can make your controller worse

Ok try this use something thin & pointy like a needle & pop it in around the side of the button & clean out the crap what get's stuck in there!.
Whenever we use a controller grease is collected off our hands & dries in the joint's of the button's.
