Default Can a PS3 work with a USB Modem?

Hi I just recently upgraded to broadband and I now have Verizon Broadband. I am using a USB Modem that connects through a USB port, obviously, but I don’t know how to connect to the internet on my PS3.The modem uses drivers from a disk so I can't plug the modem into the PS3cand install the drivers, unless there is some way I don't know about.

I have heard some people says it isn't possible and some say it can work and this and that, but I'm not sure what to do many of the question on the yahoo search aren't specific enough to my need. My overall question is how do I connect to the internet with an USB broadband. If you need any more info let me know.
I also wanted to add the I have no extra ports on my USB Modem. The only ports that the modem has is the one USB ports where it plugs into the computer.

I have an on board network card could I link the connection between them and plug the network cord in my on board card. Just and idea I don't know if that's possible.
