Ps3 controller lag...WHY!!!?

At hOme it's normal but at my dads house my ps3 takes a while to register what my controller did like I turn and it turns after a small delay...it's annoying for cod...why is it lagging only at my dads house

He might have cheap wifi and if he doesn't he might live in a very country area and their signals isn't as strong as living in cities or around major cities
