My ps3 controller won't turn on?

My controller for ps3 will not turn on. I don't think it's dead because the red light won't even flash. Ideas?

Just plug it into your console so that it will charge. Then after a couple hours press the PS button again and see what happens. If nothing happens, it may be out of use. Trade it in for another one at GameStop.

Plug it into the console or press the PS(playstation) button in the center of the controller
