Default How do I set up my ps3 in hd?

I have had a ps3 for some time now, however, only recently did i get an hd tv. It is an old tv from 2006, however it is 1080p hd. It is a sony. I know that I must plug in the hdmi cable into the video 7 slot, along with the red and white av cables. but after plugging these in i cannot get anything to come on. the video 7 slots have space for a red and white av cable, and an hdmi, but not for the yellow av cable. and i cant get it to show a picture without that cable.

When I switch from hd to "old" all you have to do is press the ps3 power button(on the actual console) and hold it until it beeps twice. Then, it will automatically set the ps3 from 480p to 1080p

Add Infraction for SCOTT

Put in the red, yellow, White cable and the hdmi cable make sure both are connected to your tv. Then turn the ps3 on and go to settings on the dashboard then go down 10 to display settings and press video output settings an press hdmi. Follow the steps and when your screen turns off switch to hdmi and it will be working. When hdmi comes up it will ask you to press yes. And I you don't press it within 30 decode it will switch back. Add me if you want : ScottyMaytee

Hope this helps
