Default Is there a HD Advance disc for PS3 like there was PS2?

I'm trying to find out if there's a disc out there that allows me to burn PS3 games just like I did with my PS2. I had the HD Advance Disc 2.0 and could burn games to my PS2 hdd. If anybody knows of a site I can buy the PS3 version of this disc hook me up. Thanks.

I had the HD Advance 2.0 disc for PS2 that allowed me to copy games to my hdd and run them through that disc. Is there a version of this disc for PS3?

No, and I doubt there ever will be. First of all PS3 games can be as large as 50gb. You'll need a pretty large hard drive to make an HD Advance type disc worth while. And if you plan on downloading PS3 games say goodbye to your bandwidth.

Second, the PS3s updates would just ban your PSN ID from their servers (or at the very least recognize the game is not authentic and not allow online play). Online play is major in this generation of consoles so thats a major drawback.

Also firmware updates could easily disable the system flaw that allowed people to exploit the PS3 and pirate games. Your HD Advance disc would become useless unless you didn't update, but then you wouldn't get updated features or online play.

Basically its just not worth it. Pay for the games and take good care of them so you won't need to back them up.

I have a large collection of of PSOne games on my PC in mostly BIN/IMG/ISO formats.
I put these on my PC so I would never have to actually take my discs, which I love & cherish, out of the cases anymore because I fear for "wear & tear".

My question is...
If I burn these games to backup Discs (CD-R), will my PS3 recognize them as playable games?
