i heard you can use laptop hard drives for the ps3 slim. Can someone give me the name and specs of a hard drive so i know what to ask for. Is it ok to go to best buy to get this? Also do i have to do a system restore to my ps3 before putting my new hard drive? Th reason i need a new hard drive is because the old one got corrupt.

Has to be SATA and 2.5". This is what I have in my PS3 slim. I bought it for $45 but lately all the prices are jacked up (guess because of the holidays). I don't think you need to do a system restore but I suppose it wouldn't hurt.
