Can you play Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock with a regular PS3 controller?

When I checked the lag thing, it let me play but when I want to play actual songs, it won't let me and keeps identifying my controller as a mic.

Is there ANY possible way that I can make the controller as a guitar instead, because I honestly don't want to be forced to buy a guitar just to play this damn game.
